This table holds an assumed house edge fixed while changing the Dice win chance. It is a way to compare frequent small returns with less frequent large returns under the same theoretical cost per unit staked.

The roll-under target uses a uniform grid from zero through 99.99 and a strict “less than” rule. All listed targets land exactly on that grid; a game with different endpoints or rounding needs its own calculation.

Probability and return table

The 1% edge is an illustrative assumption, not a rate attributed to any casino.

How the values are calculated

With probability p and assumed edge h, the gross multiplier is (1 − h)/p. For the uniform 0–99.99 grid, the strict roll-under target is 100p. Listed probabilities fit exactly on 0.01 steps. Different endpoints or equality rules change the calculation.

Interpreting this configuration

The small gap between the fair reciprocal and this payout is a proportional reduction, not a fixed amount subtracted from every multiplier. Increasing the win chance reduces the payout and changes variance, while the assumed expected loss per unit stays constant.

Frequently asked questions

What does the assumed 1% edge mean?

It is the expected fraction of turnover not returned as gross payouts in this model. It is not attributed to a casino.

Does a roll equal to the target win?

No. This table uses strict roll-under: only rolls below the target win, over 10,000 uniform outcomes from 0 to 99.99.

Does the multiplier include the stake?

Yes. Subtract one unit from the gross multiplier to get the net profit on a winning bet.
