Choose the board size, mine count and number of distinct picks. The calculator gives the chance of revealing only safe tiles and the total-return multiplier that would be fair at those odds. Mine positions are assumed uniformly random; tile choices do not predict where mines are.

| Fair total-return multiplier | 1.2987013× (100/77) |

How it is calculated
- For N tiles, M mines and K distinct picks, survival P = C(N − M, K) / C(N, K) = ∏(N − M − i)/(N − i), for i = 0…K − 1.
- The fair total return is 1/P. With assumed house edge h, the illustrative return is (1 − h)/P. This includes the original stake; net profit is the return minus 1.
- Zero picks means P = 1 and return = 1×, with no edge charged. Picking more than N − M tiles has P = 0 and no defined winning multiplier. Fractions are exact; displayed decimals are rounded.

Frequently asked questions
Does a safe pick make the next pick safer?
No. The remaining safe share falls after every safe pick when mines remain. The calculation accounts for sampling without replacement.
Is the 1% edge Mint’s payout table?
No. It is an editable illustration, not a claim about any operator. Compare with the rules and rounding in the game you are checking.
Can this tool locate mines?
No. It measures probabilities for a uniformly random board and cannot predict or reveal mine locations.
