Crypto casino wagering requirements describe the eligible betting volume required before specified promotional funds become withdrawable. “Playthrough” and “rollover” are common names for the same idea. The multiplier is only the start: the calculation base, eligible games and deadline determine what the condition actually asks of you.
The British Gambling Commission defines wagering requirements in terms of wagers totalling a particular value before funds become withdrawable. That is a useful definition, but its licensing rules should not be assumed to govern every crypto casino. Check local law, geographic eligibility and the operator’s current terms before considering a promotion.
Playthrough measures stakes, not deposits or profit
If an offer requires 1,000 units of qualifying turnover, that is the sum of eligible stakes under its rules. It does not mean depositing 1,000 units, losing 1,000 units or winning 1,000 units. Funds returned by one bet can be staked again, but there is no guarantee your balance will survive enough bets to reach the target.
William Hill’s explanation illustrates bonus playthrough and notes that some games contribute only a percentage of the stake. Its examples describe its promotions, not Mint’s. For any offer, distinguish the displayed account balance from the amount currently available for withdrawal.
Before opting in, identify the calculation base in writing. “10x bonus” and “10x deposit plus bonus” produce different targets. Ask whether your own deposit remains separately withdrawable, which funds are spent first, and what happens if you cancel the promotion. Do not infer those answers from a promotional headline.
Worked arithmetic example: entirely hypothetical
All numbers in this section are invented for explanation. They are not Mint terms, available offers or recommended stakes. Suppose a hypothetical promotion has a 100 USDT deposit, a 20 USDT bonus and 10x wagering.
| Hypothetical calculation base | Arithmetic | Required qualifying turnover |
|---|---|---|
| Bonus only | 20 × 10 | 200 USDT |
| Deposit plus bonus | (100 + 20) × 10 | 1,200 USDT |
The multiplier is identical, but the second target is six times the first. That is why a clear calculation base matters more than reading the multiplier alone. Neither target is a prediction of the money you will lose, and neither is a promise that you can complete the requirement.
With a hypothetical 200 USDT target and 100% contribution, a 5 USDT qualifying stake would reduce the remaining target to 195 USDT. Any winnings change your balance according to the game’s outcome; they do not change that arithmetic unless the offer specifically defines another counting method.
Keep the target and balance in separate columns if you calculate this yourself. If the balance reaches zero before the turnover is complete, the calculation has not created money to continue. Do not make a new deposit simply because a progress bar is partly filled.
Game weighting changes the amount of play
The basic calculation for a contribution-based offer is counted turnover = eligible stake × contribution percentage. In another hypothetical example, a 10 USDT stake at 20% weighting counts as 2 USDT. At 0%, the same stake counts as nothing, even though the money is still exposed to loss.
If a hypothetical remaining target is 200 USDT and every eligible stake contributes 20%, the gross stake volume needed is 200 ÷ 0.20 = 1,000 USDT. This assumes a constant contribution rate and enough balance to continue; it is an accounting illustration, not a strategy for clearing a promotion.
Check the exact game, version, product and provider in the eligibility list. Do not assume all slots, live tables, dice games or sports bets share one weighting. Read whether special features, cancelled rounds or refunded bets count. Ask support before betting if the promotional page and detailed rules appear inconsistent.
Game eligibility also says nothing about favourable odds. Our dice odds and house edge guide explains the separate role of game mathematics. A fully contributing game can still lose your balance quickly.
Maximum bet, expiry and withdrawal conditions matter
Look for a promotion-specific maximum bet and how it is defined. Does it apply per spin, hand, round or combined wager? Are feature purchases and side bets included? A game interface allowing a stake does not by itself establish compliance with a separate promotional condition. If the answer is unclear, pause and ask for written clarification.
For a hypothetical rule limiting each qualifying bet to 2 USDT, a 3 USDT wager would exceed that stated limit. The consequences depend on the actual contract; do not assume an excessive stake will merely be ignored. This example explains a threshold without asserting that Mint has such a rule.
Also check expiry, the relevant time zone, any conversion or cashout cap, and what happens when a bonus is cancelled or a withdrawal is requested. Save the terms applicable when you accept. Treat a deadline as a reason to decline an unsuitable offer, not as a reason to accelerate play or increase stakes.
Rakeback has a different calculation basis
Wagering requirements are conditions attached to funds; rakeback is a way of calculating a reward. They answer different questions. A reward based on gameplay can still have separate claim or withdrawal conditions, so the label alone does not settle whether playthrough applies.
Mint’s rakeback and lossback help article describes rakeback as returning part of eligible gameplay value, while lossback concerns qualifying net losses. It directs readers to the live Rewards Dashboard and specific terms for account rules. Check Mint’s current terms for any particular promotion; no fixed rate or wagering policy is assumed here.
Our rakeback versus lossback guide explains the difference, and the rakeback and lossback calculator helps organise hypothetical assumptions. A possible reward should not be subtracted from your budget as though already received.
Decide whether to decline before accepting
Write down the base, multiplier, weighting, maximum stake, expiry and withdrawal rules. Compare the required activity with your pre-existing money and time limits. If the offer only makes sense after raising either limit, decline it. You can choose not to accept a promotion even when its headline amount looks substantial.
Read our safety checklist before moving funds. If you feel compelled to finish turnover or chase losses, stop and follow self-exclusion steps. An unfinished requirement does not create an obligation to continue gambling.

Enter the bonus basis and game contribution in the wagering requirement calculator. To see why identical turnover need not produce identical balances, compare the Mines table with 5 mines with a custom board in the Mines odds calculator.
Increasing stakes to finish faster adds another constraint: the Martingale bust calculator shows when a recovery progression reaches its fixed bankroll or table-limit threshold.
If Plinko is an eligible game under your promotion, inspect its full return profile with the Plinko odds calculator before estimating wagering cost. Eligibility and contribution still come from the terms.
When a promotion allows Keno, use the Keno odds calculator to establish hit probabilities before combining them with the payout table. Game contribution is a separate term and cannot be derived from hit frequency.
A low Crash target does not make rollover cost-free. The Crash cashout calculator shows expected loss at a fixed assumed edge; separately check whether the game is eligible and contributes to your requirement.
Before applying a rollover or rebate formula, identify the reward category in crypto casino bonus types, from deposit matches to cashback; the name alone does not define its cash value.

Frequently asked questions
Does 10x wagering mean I must deposit ten times?
No. It means eligible stakes must reach ten times the stated calculation base. Confirm whether that base is the bonus, the deposit plus bonus, or another amount defined in the offer.
Do all games reduce the requirement equally?
Do not assume so. An offer can define different contribution percentages or exclude games. Check the specific game's eligibility and contribution before placing a bet.
Is rakeback automatically free of wagering?
No. Rakeback describes the reward's calculation basis. Read its separate terms to find out whether it has playthrough, expiry, caps or claim conditions.
